We're celebrating Korean Lunar New Year! Lunar New Year is celebrated in many countries across Asia, each with their own ways and traditions!
One of my favorite parts of Lunar New Year in our family is getting to eat a bowl of rice cake soup (tteokguk) to become one year older! Fun fact: In Korea, on Lunar New Year everyone becomes a year older! This was quite fun when we were kids, but not so much as we got older, lol. It's said that if one doesn't have their bowl of tteokguk on Seollal (Lunar New Year), you can't become a year older.
